When a friend of mine, who is really in to photography saw some of my work for the first time, his eyes lit up and he said "that is my dream". I have met many photographers who have spent many hours and dollars on learning the art, but still have not been able to advance in to working with models. Though the first time was many years ago for me, I still remember what it was like. I had a particular picture I wanted to do, researched the location, got the props, and found a model. I knew how to use my equipment well, having shot many types of pictures since a very young age, and even teaching photography to others. On this shoot I suddenly needed to deal with things that had nothing to do with the technology. "How do you want my hair?" "What kind of makeup?" "How do you want me to pose?" I was not prepared for those questions then, but I did learn.

This workshop is set up with the serious amateur photographer in mind. Participant should be familiar with operating their own camera. Digital cameras are ideal as they allow for instant feedback.
Topics covered will be:
Finding models
Communication and etiquette
Directing poses
Model Releases
Posing
Composition
Lighting
Setting the mood
